Slippers feature a knit-look crocheted cable pattern at toe and along sides. You can customize the length of the sole with this pattern to get the perfect fit. The Heel Loop and decorative ribbon ties provide a secure and easy fit.
Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc): Yo, insert hook from front to back around post of st indicated, yo and pull up a loop, (yo and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice.
Single Crochet 2 Stitches together (sc2tog): (Insert hook in next st and pull up a loop) twice, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook (counts as one sc).

Ch 4, sl st in fourth ch from hook to form a ring.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 2 (counts as first dc), 8 dc in ring; join with sl st to top of first dc: 9 dc.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around; join with sl st to top of first dc: 18 dc.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join with sl st to top of first dc: 27 dc.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in first 7 dc, dc in next 2 dc, sc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc, * sc in next 2 dc, dc in next 2 dc, sc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc; repeat from * once more, 2 sc in last dc; join with sl st to first sc: 28 sts.

Row 1 (RS): With top of toe facing, join yarn with sc in eighth sc to right of last joining, fpdc around next 2 fpdc in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next sc, fpdc around next 2 fpdc in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next 9 sc, fpdc around next 2 fpdc in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next sc, fpdc around next 2 fpdc in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next sc; leave remaining sc unworked: 21 sts.

Row 3 (Twist row): Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, skip next 3 sc, fpdc around next 2 fpdc in row below next 2 sc, sc in last skipped sc, working in front of last 3 sts made, fpdc around fpdc in row below first skipped st and around next fpdc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next 9 sc, skip next 3 sc, fpdc around next 2 fpdc in row below next 2 sc, sc in last skipped sc, working in front of last 3 sts made, fpdc around fpdc in row below first skipped st and around next fpdc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in last sc.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, fpdc around next 2 sts in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next sc, fpdc around next 2 sts in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next 9 sc, fpdc around next 2 sts in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in next sc, fpdc around next 2 sts in row below next 2 sc, skip 2 sc behind fpdc, sc in last sc.
Row 6: Repeat Row 2.
Rows 7 and 8: Repeat Rows 5 and 6.
Repeat Rows 3-8 until Sole measures 3.5[4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6] inches or desired length, ending with a WS row. Fasten off.
Row 1: With RS facing, skip first 7 sc of Heel and join yarn with sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog, sl st in next sc.
Rows 2-6: Turn; skip first sl st, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog (last sc of previous row and next unworked sc on last row of Sole), sl st in next sc of Sole.
Rows 7 and 8: Turn; skip first sl st, sc in next 6 sc, sc2tog (last sc of previous row and next unworked sc on last row of Sole), sl st in same sc as last st of sc2tog.
Do not fasten off.
Note: If this is too complicated, you can alternatively work 7 rows of sc over 7 centermost sc at end of sole and then sew side seams to form heel.
Edging Rnd (RS): Ch 1, turn (if necessary) to ensure right side is facing; skip first sl st, sl st evenly across Heel and in ends of rows along sides and in each sc at front of Toe; join with sl st to first st, fasten off.
Row 1: Ch 5, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 4 sc.
Rows 2-8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.
Fasten off.
Fold Heel Loop in half. With sewing needle and thread, sew in place at center back of Heel.
Ch 100, sl st in second ch from hook and in each ch across. Fasten off and knot securely. You may vary the length of the ties if you wish.
Alternatively you can use 2 pieces of ribbon of desired length to fit around ankle.
Thread each Tie through Heel Loop and tie in bow at outside of ankle.
