Pink Orchard

By Inna Aleksandrova
IntermediateNatural

This cardigan started with some lemonade, when instead of drinking it my daughter had decided to soak some yarn in it. The resulting color was so bright and yummy that we immediately soaked some more yarn in another flavor. Then we combined colorful yarn in stripes, added some lace for a visual interest and so the first version of this cardigan was born. Kids grow fast but they love their favorite pieces. A year later, another version of this cardi has been created – this time we used colors available from the yarn seller. The combination of petal pink and green stripes with airy white lace makes this piece fresh and unique.

Inna Aleksandrova

Inna Aleksandrova lives and raises her family in Northern New Jersey. Born in Latvia, the little Baltic country rich of knitting traditions, she was taught to knit at a very tender age but never looked at it as an art. Only recently she rediscovered the pleasure and value of hand knitting and is very thankful to all her teachers back there. Whenever possible she knits on circular needles with no seams and loves to design garments for her family and friends.
