It's so amazing, Petite Purls is already a year old! What a year it has been. We feel so fortunate that the knitting community has welcomed our magazine with such enthusiastic open arms and that we have had the opportunity to work with truly amazing people along the way. We celebrated our one year anniversary by going to our first "industry show" (TNNA) and had a blast. It was great meeting some of our past designers in person, and some of our own personal role models, but a true highlight was for us to meet each other for the first time! When gearing up for TNNA, we would get so excited about our meeting that both of us assumed it would be very emotional. But we have become so close, via phone calls, gmail chats and countless emails, that when we did meet, it was as if we've known each other, in person, forever.
But enough about us, let's talk about the issue! We've put together a great issue, full of wonderful, fun summer patterns and great articles. While we were at TNNA, we had a "dream come true moment" when we got to sit down with the lovely Debbie Bliss for a nice chat. We're thrilled to bring excerpts from our talk with her to you! Also, make sure you check out our Celebration Giveaways page too. We are doing this anniversary up big, and you do not want to miss it!
We've enjoyed adding many features to the magazine, as well as our blog throughout the past year. Crochet Corner and Sew Petite have gotten great reviews, as well as our Back to Basics collection. Our newest feature, is a blog series called Renaissance Moms. We are very excited about the many great interviews to come, as well as some other plans for the series.
Everything about Petite Purls has truly been serendipitous, and we plan to be around for a long time. Help us continue this journey by showing your support to our lovely sponsors. Without them, Petite Purls would merely be a twinkle in our eye. We are forever grateful for their generosity and support.
Party On! We're One!
Allegra & Brandy

Brandy Fortune began knitting in 2003 when she took what she thought was a crochet class at a local yarn store. In 2007 Brandy gave birth to her daughter, and knit several sweaters throughout her pregnancy. While there were loads of darling patterns, she wanted something a little different. Thus began her adventures in designing knitwear for babies. You can read the Pixie Purls blog, and see her other knitwear designs by visiting her website.

When she is not knitting or dreaming about knitting, Allegra Wermuth is a mother, wife, teacher and professional violinist living outside of Denver, Colorado. Her father taught her to knit six years ago when she wanted to knit small decorative scarves for all the women who were a part of her wedding. She hasn't put her needles down since. You can read about her adventures in knitting at her blog.

Joan Beebe, a.k.a SSKnits, has been knitting, crocheting and tech editing nearly non-stop for more years than she cares to admit. She tech edits and plays with yarn from her home in windy Wichita, KS where she lives with her husband and 2 youngest kids. You can follow her musings on her sporadically updated blog.
